Today, our team visited Mu Ban Dek School to deliver some of the items the children and the school had requested, including cabinets, gardening seeds, slippers, and other daily necessities. What may seem ordinary to many of us can make a meaningful difference to a community doing their very best with limited resources.
We also shared a special lunch with the children—a simple fast-food meal that many of us in Singapore can enjoy anytime. Yet for many of these children, it was a rare treat. Watching them savour every bite and smile from ear to ear reminded us how the simplest things can bring the greatest joy.
But perhaps the greatest gift we shared today wasn’t the food or the supplies—it was our time.
Our volunteers set up games and spent the day playing, laughing, and interacting with the children. What was meant to be a short activity quickly turned into hours because the children simply didn’t want us to leave. They held our hands, called us back for one more game, one more laugh, one more photo, and one more moment together.
It made us reflect on how meaningful it is when someone chooses to stay—not just to donate, but to listen, encourage, and make a child feel seen and valued.
Today reminded us that charity is about more than giving things. It is about giving our time, our attention, our compassion, and creating memories that remain long after the day is over.
To all our sponsors and donors, thank you for giving us the opportunity to be your hands and feet on this journey. Thank you for trusting TSB Charity Association to carry your generosity across borders and deliver not only donations, but also warmth, hope, and happiness to these children.
Every smile we witnessed, every laugh we shared, and every hug we received belongs to all of you as well. Without your generosity, these precious moments would not have been possible.
As we prepared to leave, we made a promise to the children—we will be back next year, bringing even more love, friendship, and sweetness from Singapore.
