Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.
An anonymised string (also known as a hash) generated from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. You can view the Gravatar privacy policy here: https://automattic.com/privacy/.
After your comment is approved, your profile picture (if applicable) may be publicly visible next to your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, please avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website can potentially download and extract location data from uploaded images.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site, you may choose to save your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience and prevent you from having to re-enter your details the next time you comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to check if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will set up several cookies to save your login info and screen display preferences. Login cookies last for two days, and screen option cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. Logging out will remove the login cookies.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be stored in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply stores the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after one day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (such as videos, images, or articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if you visited the original website directly.
These third-party sites may collect your data, use cookies, and include third-party tracking, especially if you are logged in to those platforms.
Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email. Otherwise, we do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with outside parties, except as required for security or spam prevention.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to recognise and approve follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For registered users (if applicable), we store the personal information provided in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except for changing their username). Website administrators can also access and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you may request an exported file of your personal data that we hold. You may also request the deletion of any personal data we have, except data required for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service
Newsletter Signup
If you choose to subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your name and email address solely for the purpose of sending you periodic updates about our community projects, volunteer opportunities, and donation drives.
We do not share your information with third parties, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link provided in each email.
Donations & Payment Information
If you make a donation through our website (via PayNow or any third-party payment gateway), your payment information is processed securely by the relevant provider.
TSB Charity Association does not store your full credit card or banking information. We only retain records necessary for accounting and auditing purposes, such as transaction amount, date, and reference code, in accordance with Singapore’s charity and data protection laws.
Volunteer Registration
When you sign up to volunteer with us, we may collect personal details such as your name, contact number, email address, and area of interest. This information is used to coordinate volunteer efforts, match you with relevant activities, and keep you informed of upcoming events.
