We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the wonderful team from Standard Chartered Bank, Tampines Branch, for packing 101 essential grocery bags and personally joining us in distributing them to beneficiaries at Blk 12 Bedok South Rental Flats.
Many of the residents we serve are elderly individuals living alone, as well as families with young children facing daily financial challenges. Essentials such as Milo, coffee, biscuits, and household necessities may seem ordinary to many of us, but they provide meaningful support and comfort to families trying to make ends meet.
What touched us most was seeing the Standard Chartered team go beyond sponsorship and take the time to meet residents personally, distribute groceries, and engage with the community. These interactions create connections that remind us all of the importance of looking out for one another.
It was also especially encouraging to see younger volunteers participating in the outreach. Community service is not only about giving — it is about learning empathy, understanding different life experiences, and recognising that even small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference.
